After the news of Paul Chryst’s firing at Wisconsin broke, people already started naming people to become his replacement. One name stood out on social media among fans and media members alike.

Kansas’ Lance Leipold was one of the most talked about people for the job opening. Leipold is from Jefferson, Wisconsin and played at Wisconsin-Whitewater in college.

The Jayhawks are undefeated so far with Leipold. Kansas has beaten Tennessee Tech, West Virginia, Houston, Duke, and Iowa State.

A couple people on social media did not approve of Leipold’s name being thrown out there, but the majority sounded like they would welcome the move.

Nebraska could also be looking to hire Leipold after Mickey Joseph’s tenure as interim head coach. However, it could be a long shot with how much Leipold is tied to the state of Wisconsin.

Some Wisconsin fans even called for Wisconsin to fire the entire coaching staff unless Leipold is considered for the job.
