Getting angry at Anthony Rizzo and Aaron Judge would be the perfect way to be removed from the New York Yankees’ plans going forward. That could be the case with Josh Donaldson.

Sister site Yanks Go Yard posted that Donaldson was irritated with the pair of sluggers during their clubhouse celebration the other day. The Yankees third baseman had welcomed a new child, and having Judge and Rizzo constantly call him ‘Daddy’ during an interview may have led to some annoyance.

Josh Donaldson irritation at New York Yankees stars likely overblown

At the same time, indicating that there is friction between Donaldson and the duo has to be much ado about nothing. There have not been any reports anywhere else about any problems between Donaldson and Judge and Rizzo.

Considering that these are the Yankees, and Judge is the hottest name in baseball these days, any rumblings of issues would be everywhere. That is simply not the case.

It does appear as though there are some issues with Donaldson and his fit in the clubhouse. From an outsider’s perspective, there are times when he seems uncomfortable with other players and does not want to be a part of any shenanigans. The clubhouse also did not exactly come to Donaldson’s defense after his altercation with the White Sox and Tim Anderson. There has to be some tension there. It is easy to extrapolate all of that with his reaction in the video.

But at the same time, Donaldson wants to win. He has yet to take home a championship or even appear in a World Series. His best chances to doing either, aside from finding his way to the Dodgers, would be to stay with the New York Yankees. Judge and Rizzo are a major part of those hopes this season and, if the Yankees have their way, will be going forward as well. Being angered at both players is a fast way to get a ticket out of town.
