Michigan State could be making history on Saturday, and not the type if wants to make.

The Spartans on Sunday opened as 23-point underdogs for their Saturday home matchup against Ohio State, according to Circa Sports.

According to Oddshark, Michigan State has been a larger home underdog only one time since 1995: when they were 24.5-point home underdogs to Michigan in 2016.

If the line moves a few points OSU’s favor in the next six days, it would make the Spartans the biggest home underdogs they’ve ever been. According to the website Killersports.com, the largest spread in favor of a Spartan Stadium visitor was 26.5, in 1991 against Michigan.

Michigan State brings a three-game losing streak into the game, with all three losses coming by double digits. Most recently, the Spartans lost 27-13 at Maryland on Saturday

Ohio State, meanwhile, is 5-0, having beaten Wisconsin 52-21 and Rutgers 49-10 in its last two outings.
