BOSTON — Sunday morning was blustery and a bit cold, but that didn’t stop thousands of walkers from hitting the pavement and helping to raise money for cancer. The organization set its fundraising goal of $7.5 million for cancer care and research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

About 7,500 people were expected to walk up to 26.2 miles, but participants could pick from multiple distances. Those walking the full course will leave from Hopkinton, anyone doing a half-marathon started at Wellesley High School, 10K walkers started in Newton and 5K walkers stepped off from the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Everyone finishes in Copley Square, where Jimmy Fund Walk Heroes who are currently battling cancer will be there to congratulate participants who walked in their honor.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.

Boston 25 is a proud sponsor of the Jimmy Fund walk and many members of our team were participating and supporting the walkers. Check out the attached photo gallery of today’s event.
