ANYTHING. THE PLAN FOR THIS WEEKEND ROAD CLOSING IS THE SAME AS THE LAST CLOSING IT ON FRIDAY NIGHT AND OPENING IT BACK UP IN TIME FOR MONDAY MORNING RUSH HOUR. BUT SOME DRIVERS SAY THE HEADACHES THEY’RE CAUSING AREN’T WORTH THE REWARD. I DON’T LIKE IT. ONE DRIVER TOLD ME SHE’S GLAD THEY’RE TRYING TO FIX THE ROADS, BUT THE WEEKEND ISN’T THE RIGHT TIME TO DO IT. YES, AGGRAVATING PEOPLE. GET SOME TIME OFF, WORK. THEY WANT TO THEY WANT TO PLAY. AND AND NOW YOU’VE GOT TO GO ALL OUT ON YOUR WAY TO OKLAHOMA. DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION CLOSED THE INTERSTATE FOR THE WEEKEND TO FULLY RESURFACE THE FOUR MILE STRETCH. SOME DRIVERS CALL THIS AN INCONVENIENCE. I WASN’T REALLY IN MY GRANDMOTHER’S HOUSE AND IT DID TAKE AN EXTRA 10 TO 15 MINUTES JUST HAVING TO GO DOWN 40 INSTEAD OF 35. AND THEY SAY THEY FEEL LIKE THEY NEEDED A BETTER WARNING. IT WAS A LITTLE INCONVENIENT BECAUSE I WASN’T EXPECTING THE CONSTRUCTION. IF I HAD KNOWN THAT PROBABLY WOULD HAVE WENT A DIFFERENT WAY. I-35 NORTHBOUND IS CLOSED BETWEEN I-40 AND I-44 THROUGHOUT THE WEEKEND, SO IF YOU NEED TO DRIVE THAT WAY, LOOK FOR AN ALTERNATE ROUTE. OH, THAT SAYS THE ROAD IS SET TO RE

KOCO 5 spoke with drivers who said it was more of an inconvenience for drivers.The plan for this weekend's road closing was the same as the last, closing on Friday night and opening back up for Monday morning rush hour. Some drivers said the headaches they’re causing aren’t worth the reward."I don't like it," said Jessica Lofton, OKC resident.One driver said she’s glad they’re trying to fix the roads but the weekend isn’t the right time to do it."Yeah, it's aggravating. People get some time off work they want to play and now you got to go all out of your way," Lofton said.The Oklahoma Department of Transportation closed the interstate for the weekend to fully resurface the four-mile stretch. Some drivers called it an inconvenience."I was on my way to my grandma's house, and it did take an extra 10 to 15 minutes just having to go down 40 instead of 35," said Monique Buckner, OKC resident.They said they feel like they needed a better warning."It was a little inconvenient because I wasn't expecting the construction. If I had known that I probably would have went a different way," Buckner said.I-35 northbound is closed between I-40 and I-44 throughout the weekend. So, if you need to drive that way, look for an alternate route.ODOT said the road is set to reopen on Monday morning at 6 a.m. to start off the work week.
