New Orleans Police are investigating a deadly crash that sent a man over the side of an overpass in New Orleans East.
"The NOPD is investigating a fatal single-vehicle vehicle crash that occurred on October 1, 2022, on the Almonaster Avenue overpass of Jourdan Road South that left one person dead," according to a news release.
It happened just before 10:30pm Saturday night.
"Officers responded to a call of a vehicle crash with injury at the location. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male motorcyclist lying on the ground near Jourdan Road South. The victim was unresponsive and declared deceased on scene."
Cops say they determined that the victim was riding his motorcycle heading east on the Almonaster Avenue overpass when he lost control.
The bike hit the guard rail.
"Upon impact, the driver was thrown from the motorcycle and off the overpass, landing alongside Jourdan Road South."
