Anyone else finding Heart 100.7 unlistenable (no jokes please) due to interference? Completely unlistenable here in Walsall. Can't see any other Sutton FM affected in a quick scan.

What sort of interference ? Another station too close or on top of ? Or random noise ? If the latter, how wide an area is affected ?

from what it sounds like, the audio feed at full blast very distorted.
due to the distortion the signal is reduced.
i'll see if i can get a recording.

The audio is awful! If a pirate station had been transmitting with distorted audio like that Ofcom would throw a big fine and accusations of interference. Very poor for Global not to have sorted this by now.

So, it's not actually interference then, but rather the programme feed to the transmitter has gone 'Tango Uniform' ?

Global have form with this, didn't Heart Reigate 102.7 suffer the same issue a couple of years ago (for a day or two !) ?

Not even @lufcfan1998 would have the tenacity to listen to that mess.

If it was a pirate regardless of the circumstances Ofcom would definitely make accusations of interference and at minimum fine the offenders.

One rule for Global… it’s pretty appalling for an organisation that big and financially affluent not to have this sorted by now.

While I agree it's a pretty poor show that Global have a transmitter serving a major conurbation transmitting essentially random noise, I doubt it's causing any spurious emissions, so other services shouldn't be affected.

The way to get this resolved is to point out the fault to one of Heart 100.7's advertisers !

Although he’d have umpteen questions about the line up 3 years ago 😉

I can remember when Telford FM's audio sounded as bad as Heart 100.7 does at the moment. It was like it for years.

No, the only Heart station I properly listen to is my local Heart 106-108 Yorkshire (although on trips to the North East to see family I’ve heard Heart NE as well). However I have just posted in here as I can’t see no reason why the OP can’t just listen to Heart W.Mids on DAB? I’ve not really listened to Heart this weekend much anyway as I’ve been out both yesterday and today.

Not everybody has DAB for a start.

Must admit I switched to DAB after BBC Wm was blocked by a pirate quite a few years ago.

That's not the point of this thread though is it?

I was only asking, but as a previous poster says, not everyone can get DAB. And as I've explained in another thread, I'm on the autism spectrum (and I have learning disabilities too) and this can cause me to have obsessions with certain things (and Heart of course is one of them at the moment).

It’s a good job I wasn’t a member in 2019 then! 😉, although if you remember this time last year (don’t forget that this time last year I’d only been on DS for a few weeks), I was doing the same but with Pulse 1! However, as with, Pulse 1, I may listen to Heart most of the time but I do listen to other stations (especially if the mighty Leeds are playing - that’s why I didn’t listen to Heart yesterday afternoon, as I was at the Leeds match)

Not a problem. I am on the spectrum also, so I know how you feel. Fun isn't it? 🙄
