She performed really well last night, and i can see her reaching the latter stages at least.

No your not on your own it was lovely and she had struggled with it due to no body contact with Nikita.

The waltz is often overlooked as it's not a showy dance, but her's is the only one I'm still thinking of from last night.

I can’t remember which judge said it (maybe Shirley?) but it was about how simplicity works. I’d rather have a simple dance executed like Ellie’s Waltz than a more showy dance done poorly.

It was beautiful, wasn't it? The dances I dislike are the modern almost free style I'm not sure what genre they are. The ones where they are throwing them selves around the floor and at each other and constantly cocking their legs up. Most inelegant

It was exquisite - simple, elegant, heartfelt.

No, you weren't the only one @andallthatjazz. I had a tear in my eye and actually applauded. Nikita is a wonderful edition to the professional team and a perfect partner for Ellie.

She’s exactly the sort of contestant I root for on shows like this. A game changing contestant.

No I absolutely loved their dance too! Ellie was so beautifully elegant, and Nikita is so skilful in both the choreography and in adapting moves and holds. I like how they just discuss these adaptions lightly and in a straightforward way. The online trolls can poke off - Ellie is a lovely dancer.

Although there have been some very good modern freestyle dances over the years, your comment has really made me laugh. I still wish I could unsee Lisa Snowdon (who was so beautifully talented dancing everything else) in her modern freestyle with Brendan. 🤣

I had a little tear too.

It was an emotionally charged performance, since Ellie & Nikita had clearly worked hard and made many adaptations throughout the week for it all to come together.

Gorgeous, gorgeous dance! Nikita’s choreo was just perfect, I have nothing but admiration for him as a teacher and a pro. Ellie is doing brilliantly and is such a wonderful, positive role model. And the styling was beeeeyoooooootiful! That frock!

I think the heartfelt bit was very significant. You could see Ellie's emotional connection to the performance/music etc was very real and intense for her. She really is throwing herself into this process with an athletes commitment and visibly getting a lot from it.

I must admit that I had wondered how she would manage ballroom, but she did, and did it well - so, not a problem.

Beautiful in every way. I did well up at the end unexpectedly.

I hope a certain journalist was watching and was eating her words. The experience may hopefully begin to change her mind about inclusion.

I also welled up. It was by far the strongest emotional connection I made to any dance on Saturday. Ellie can connect with both a partner and an audience at the same time. For someone who isn't a performer and in week two, that's quite something.
