COMING UP AHEAD. NEW AD 530, FORT DODGE. POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING AN OVERNIGHT ARSON. FIREFIGHTERS ARE CALLED TO AN ABANDONED HOUSE ON ELM STREET JUST BEFORE 2 A.M.. WE HAVE SOME PICTURES SHOWING THE ORANGE FLAMES VISIBLE FROM MORE THAN A MILE AWAY ON CANYON ROAD BRIDGE. WE GOT THESE PHOTOS FROM THE FIRE DEPARTMENT’S FACEBOOK PAGE. THE PHOTO SHOWS FIREFIGHTERS PUTTING A HOSE CLOSER TO THE HOUSE THERE AND ALL THEY FOUND INSIDE WERE A FEW APPLIANCES IN THIS LAST PHOTO. YOU CAN SEE ALL THE SMOKE RISING INTO THE SKY. Fort Dodge police investigating house fire as arson
Firefighters in Fort Dodge battled large flames early Sunday morning.The Fort Dodge Fire Department received a call about a house fire just before 2 a.m. on Sunday.They arrived to find a home at 1141 Ave B engulfed in flames. The house is located right by the Des Moines River.Firefighters could see the flames from the Kenyon Rd. Bridge.Nobody was inside the home. No injuries have been reported. All that firefighters found inside were a few appliances.After extinguishing the flames, investigators determined the fire to be arson.Fort Dodge police are currently investigating.
