The dry conditions and lack of rain has forced one local municipality to issue a burn ban. Salesville Fire Chief Earnest Malloy says for the second time this year, outdoor burning within the city limits is prohibited effective immediately.
There are currently no area counties in Arkansas that have issued burn bans for their unincorporated areas. However, the Arkansas Forestry says the entire state is under a moderate-to-high wildfire danger due to a lack of recent rainfall, abundantly clear skies and low afternoon humidity.
