BREAKING NEWS THIS MORNING... A FIRE AT THE RICHMOND HILL POPEYES LEAVES TWO OTHER BUSINESSES DAMAGED. THAT'S IN ADDITION TO IT.. IT HAPPENED AT THE POPEYES ON HIGHWAY 17. WHEN FIREFIGHTERS ARRIVED THEY ENCOUNTERED HEAVY SMOKE AND FLAMES COMING FROM THE ROOF OF THE RESTAURANT WHICH IS ALSO CONNECTED TO FUDRUCKERS AND THE T-A SERVICE STATION. FIREFIGHTERS WERE ABLE TO KNOCK BACK THE FLAMES QUICKLY... THOUGH AID WAS REQUESTED FROM NEARBY COUNTIES. OUTCUE: CREWS ARE CURRENTLY WORKING ON SALVAGE AND OVERHAUL

Popeyes in Richmond Hill is damaged after catching fire early Sunday morning. Richmond Hill Fire Department Capt. Ronald Evans says his crews encountered heavy smoke and flames coming from the roof of the restaurant. Firefighters were able to control the flames, but did ask for the help from Chatham Fire, Hinesville and Fort Stewart. Evans says the restaurant does have fire and water damage. It’s attached to both a Fudruckers and TA service station, both of which were also damaged by smoke. No injuries have been reported at this time.
