The Norwalk cross country boys picked up their third team title of the season on Saturday, winning the Gray division of the Wartburg Steve Johnson Invitational.

The Class 4A second-ranked Warrior boys placed first out of 24 teams with a score of 95, followed by Johnston (136) and Cedar Falls (158). The Warrior girls finished 19th out of 22 teams with a score of 506, with Dubuque Hempstead winning the meet title.

Donovan Card was Norwalk’s lone top-10 place-winner on the day, finishing seventh in 15:46. Noah Buhrow placed 19th in 16:07 while Jack Brown (16:13), Will Chase (16:13) and Teegan Kralik (16:14) finished in a tight pack between 22nd and 24th. There were 223 runners in the field.

Card was listed 22nd in last week’s Class 4A individual rankings and Brown was ranked 23rd.

Breelie Mauro led the Norwalk girls by placing 15th out of 188 runners in 19:06. Maya Butler finished 126th, Brooke Seeley was 134th and Sara Beckwith 139th.

Norwalk’s next meet will be the Fort Dodge Invitational on Thursday, October 6, at Lakeside Municipal Golf Course.
