The LK logo stayed on the black/mute, not sure during the BBC News promo part.
Will this be the OB they will use for the Conservative Party Conference?

Sounds like an improvement on the usual LK garbage.

Same thing used to happen with Margaret Thatcher. Strange that!

No, I don't think so. They were using the occasional studio space at The Mailbox (the home of BBC Birmingham) Possibly a flight case rig, connecting back to London using the site's own facilities. I suspect they were still using the regular gallery in London to drive the show.

What was odd was Red Bee pres didn't jump in with soothing words and test card musak on the BBC 1 output, but instead used the default filler loop the News Ch uses

This made me wonder if the show is actually now a BBC News channel production and that BBC1 is actually simulcasting the BBC News channel as opposed to the other way round??

Doesn't look like we missed anything of note anyway, all she was doing was wittering on about the energy cap and evading Laura's questions about the speculated cuts to public services & benefits.

    .

The News Channel doesn't even have the budget to put on a village hall nativity now, it'll be a 'Network' BBC 1 production

Hahaha well, I don't know if this 'technical error' helped, but she's done a U turn on cutting tax for those earning over £150,000 a year and paying for it by cutting pensions/benefits.

I obviously don't know for sure whether this was done in anger by BBC staff or if it was a genuine technical error, but it wouldn't be the first time that BBC staff have allegedly helped to make a political point.

Back in 1988 the Tories introduced anti gay legislation called Clause 28 of the Local Government Act.

At the time I was told by my gay friends that there are a lot of LGBT people working in the television industry (can anyone who works in the industry onfurm if they believe that a higher than average number of LGBT people work in their industry)?

It was said at the time that the these women must have had inside help to be able to disrupt BBC1:

I'm not quite sure what you're suggesting here.

As Liz Truss was busy digging herself into an even deeper hole, why would anybody not on 'her side' want to disrupt that ?

As it stands, you seem to be suggesting the BBC is infiltrated with right wing, Liz loving, LGBT activists ?
I think (even given the surrealism of recent years) you have an over active imagination

My phone crashed before I could add the link!

I was going by the comments that this really shouldn't have happened as it wasn't an outside broadcast, but you make a fair comment.

As an aside, I wonder why the fault resulted in BBC1 going fo the titles/ident of a completely different channel, instead of the BBC1 breakfast slate??

Yes, that remains the most interesting question about the failure.

Oh yes. Turned out to be the VTR being used for the playout was accidentally left in remote mode slaved to an edit suite in another part of the building, (where they were frantically editing down a football match for Mid Week Sports Special at 10:30 )
