CVU rides Alex Provosts' big day to defeat Hartford 31-19

Champlain Valley Union is without a doubt, one of if not the most well-rounded football team in Vermont. They showcased almost every offensive weapon and used suffocating run defense to defeat Hartford Union High School 31-19 on Saturday.The RedHawks got on the board first, when Max Destito found Jack Sumner for a 21-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter. Sumner would finish with two catches for 45 yards on the day. Hartford would respond in the second quarter, with Brody Tyburski finding the endzone on a 11-yard scamper for the first of his two touchdowns on the day.But the star of the day for CVU was their tight end Alex Provost, who despite only hauling in four catches, amassed over 144 yards of offense, and two touchdowns.The RedHawks look to continue their undefeated season next week against Bur & Burton, the only other undefeated team in Vermont division 1.The Hurricanes look to get back in the win column next week at home against Middlebury Union.
