Nick Saban’s got jokes.

Not long after No. 2 Alabama defeated No. 20 Arkansas 49-26, a win in which he lost Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young to injury, the Alabama coach wasn’t about to reveal any information moving ahead in preparation for Jimbo Fisher and Texas A&M.

While he wasn’t specifically asked the topic, he drove home his point with a quip that made the gathered media laugh.

“I don’t know,” Saban said about Young and back-up Jalen Milroe playing when the Tide hosts the Aggies. “I was going to call Jimbo afterward and tell him exactly what we wanted to do. So, if he can hear it in a press conference, I don’t have to call him.”

Saban explained Young has an AC sprain of his shoulder.

After opening a 28-0 lead in the second quarter behind two touchdown series from Young and another two from his replacement, redshirt freshman Jalen Milroe, the Alabama offense began to sputter. Arkansas capitalized.

Milroe, who finished just 4 of 9 passing for 65 yards and a touchdown, and the Alabama offense had minus-1 yard in the third quarter.

It a different story in the fourth quarter.

Ahead by just five and facing a third-and-15 from his 20, Milroe scrambled for 77 yards inside the Arkansas five. Three plays later, Jase McClellan scored from 3 yards and the lead was back to double-digits.

Jahmyr Gibbs tacked on two more touchdowns in the fourth on runs of 72 and 76 yards. He finished with 202 yards and two scores on 18 carries.
