With a shortage of gas happening at the same time as the gas tax holiday, finding fuel has not been easy for drivers, and it’s a problem stacking up on top of many others.

In the Misty Oaks neighborhood, a sinkhole opened up after Ian, forcing people out of their homes, while those who stayed lost power.

There is help on the way. Hundreds of Duke Energy Mutual Aid linemen are heading to fix power lines Saturday. State Rep. Anna Eskamani led an individual cleanup effort.

This is just an example of people who are doing what they can, when they can.

“Our entire district experienced impacts whether it was major debris fall or major flooding from Lake Eola, Lake Davis to Ivanhoe,” Eskamani said. “We’re still navigating the aftermath and helping (to) make sure folks are going to be okay.”

FEMA has also announced it will be offering help to those who were impacted by the disaster.
