HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — According to a Facebook post by the Horry County Police Department on Wednesday morning, Waccamaw Drive has now reopened.
North and South Waccamaw Drive were closed to traffic Saturday, according to the HCPD.
A portion of North Waccamaw Drive, Melody Lane to Seabreeze Drive, has reopened as of Sunday afternoon, according to a tweet from HCPD.
HCPD asks that people do not attempt to visit Garden City area beaches and hotels until further notice.
Crews are currently working to restore regular services in the area. Only authorized public safety and public works personnel are permitted in the area.
