TORONTO — The Red Sox made four roster moves before Saturday’s game against the Blue Jays here at Rogers Centre.

They optioned both outfielder Jarren Duran and relief pitcher Tyler Danish. Both will remain with the major league club on the taxi squad as the minor league has ended.

Boston recalled reliever Josh Winckowski and reinstated reliever Kaleb Ort from the restricted list.

Ort couldn’t enter Canada with the team Thursday evening because he’s unvaccinated. Canada today lifted its requirement for visitors to be vaccinated. Ort flew in this morning and arrived at Roger Centre around 11:50 a.m.

Danish allowed four earned runs on five hits (two homers) in a 9-0 loss to Toronto on Saturday.

“Yesterday, we used Danish for two (innings) and we’re limited in the bullpen as far as usage and all that,” manager Alex Cora said. “I wanted to protect certain guys. So if we can use them (Winckowski and Ort) out of the bullpen, it will be like two or three innings.”
