Community Board meetings this week: City to provide updates on Lighthouse Pointe, Pier 1

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Building applications, the status of Pier 1 and district financial needs will be the subject of upcoming Staten Island Community Board meetings this week.

Community Board 1

Community Board 1 will host a budget public hearing for fiscal year 2024 in the board office on Monday, Oct. 3, at 6:30 p.m.

A virtual meeting of the land use, waterfront, St. George and West Brighton committees will be held on Thursday, Oct. 6, at 7 p.m. During the meeting, updates will be given by the New York City Economic Development Corporation on Lighthouse Pointe and Pier 1, which remains closed for safety reasons.

Community Board 2

Community Board 2 will address two building applications in Todt Hill during its Land Use Public Hearing on Tuesday, Oct. 4, at 7 p.m..

A City Planning application to build a new in-ground swimming pool at 934 Todt Hill Rd. in a Special Natural Area District will be discussed, as will the application to construct a new residential home at 76 Cromwell Circle, also in a Special Natural Area District.

Community Board 3

Community Board 3 will hold a virtual budget hearing on Thursday, Oct. 6, to review the board’s district needs and requests for fiscal year 2024.
