Dog that was in carjacked vehicle in south suburbs found

HOMEWOOD, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A dog has been located after it was in a vehicle that was carjacked in south suburban Homewood just before 6 p.m. Friday.

The victim told police he had been standing outside his car when a man wearing all gray clothing who appeared to be in his 20's got in the driver's side of the victim's white 2015 Subaru sport-utility vehicle, according to police.

The victim got into the driver's side of the SUV and police said the suspect took out a gun and drove off. The victim fell out of the vehicle as it began to move.

An 11-month-old Golden Retriever puppy named Cooper was in the SUV at the time. Police are still searching for the SUV and the suspect.
