Third quarter. Sooners just trying to get out of here without any more injuries.

Q3 TCU

2:08 p.m.

Center Andrew Raym and left tackle Anton Harrison both returned for the Sooners on the final drive of the third quarter.

— RC

2:00 p.m

Now center Andrew Raym had to limp off the field after that fourth down play. Leaned on a couple of teammates before hopping back over to the OU sideline.

— RC

1:58 p.m.

Anton Harrison now needs assistance to get off the field. Five of OU’s starting 11 offensive players (Gabriel, Morris, Harrison, Gray, Wease) have left this one injured. There is still 4:40 left in the third quarter.

True freshman Jacob Sexton enters at right tackle in reserve of Harrison.

— RC

1:39 p.m.

Kendre Miller puts the exclamation point on this thing with a 69-yard touchdown run, literally untouched, right up the middle.

This Oklahoma defense is in absolute shambles.

It's 48-17 at Amon G. Carter.

— JH

1:38 p.m.

Not great news at the moment for Eric Gray.

— JH

1:35 p.m.

A trade of punts to start the third quarter. Gotta say, the execution on offense and defense is at a low in the recent era.

Halftime stats:

1:06 p.m.

Halftime. Sooners trail big. No Dillon Gabriel. No defense.

— JH

Q2 TCU

1:01 p.m.

Davis Beville looks unsure in the pocket, but his receivers are covered. He scrambles around but takes another sack as TCU calls timeout with 48 seconds to halftime.

— JH

12:58 p.m.

Wideout Gunnar Henderson finds himself wide open behind the Oklahoma defense for a 62-yard touchdown pass from Max Duggan.

Looked like DaShaun White was giving chase, at least for a second, before giving up. Justin Harrington tackles Henderson at the goal line, but it’s 41-17 with 1:34 til halftime.

— JH

12:51 p.m.

Davis Beville’s first big test doesn’t go well. He’s sacked on second down and can’t connect on a short throw to Eric Gray on third down. Sooners punt.

— JH

12:51 p.m.

Dillon Gabriel has now been taken out of the injury tent. He has his helmet on, but he’s being walked straight to the locker room.

— RC

12:50 p.m.

Brent Venables just can’t stand it.

He began this possession watching the offense, but realized there’s just too much to fix on defense, so he turned around and ran over to the defense on the far side of the Sooner sideline and started talking to them.

— JH

12:49 p.m.

While the defense gets the fourth down stop, Dillon Gabriel is still in the injury tent.

A couple of people have come in and out of the tent, but Gabriel remains.

— RC

12:45 p.m.

Trey Morrison with the possible defensive play of the day for Oklahoma: he laid into a receiver trying to catch a deep ball. Looked like he got there early (pass interference) and looked like he hit a defenseless receiver (personal foul). Neither is called.

Sooners then get a fourth-down stop.

Could that be the fuel that ignites OU’s fire?

— JH

12:37 p.m.

When it's 34-17, it's not too soon to look ahead to the Red River Rivalry.

I bring you Davis Beville vs. Hudson Card as next week's starting quarterbacks.

Maybe.

— JH

12:36 p.m.

The Davis Beville package seems to work pretty well: three handoffs and a nice touchdown run by Jovantae Barnes.

Sooners cut it to 34-17, 8:49 til halftime.

— JH

12:32 p.m.

Linebacker Jamoi Hodge slams Dillon Gabriel as Gabriel slides at the end of a scramble. Hodge gets a targeting call, which is confirmed. Gabriel is now up on his feet and is being helped off the field.

Scary moment. I doubt Gabriel returns today.

Guessing it's Davis Beville's game from here.

— JH

12:32 p.m.

Dillon Gabriel gets absolutely drilled by TCU defender Jamoi Hodge on the slide and Gabriel down on the field.

The Oklahoma offensive line jumped in to defend Gabriel, but the entire OU training staff rushed over.

He’s been down for a good couple of minutes.

— RC

12:26 p.m.

The “S-E-C” chants have started to filter down from the TCU fans. Oklahoma’s defense has no answers right now and can only seem to generate any pressure when the Sooners dial up a blitz. The Horned Frogs are averaging 15.2 yards per carry (helped out by Max Duggan’s 67-yard touchdown run), and OU is giving up 11.2 yards per play.

— RC

12:25 p.m.

Oklahoma’s 3-man front is neither producing pressure on Max Duggan nor holding the line of scrimmage against the run. The defensive ends are sagging in and just getting wiped out on the ground. TCU’s offensive line isn’t good, but Demercado just went 37 yards untouched before smashing in for a 1-yard TD that makes it 34-10, 10:30 til halftime.

The Sooners have no answer.

— JH

12:21 p.m.

The Oklahoma offense now moves to 2-of-7 on third down. Dillon Gabriel said “it’s not impossible” to convert third downs when the offense gets behind the chains, but it’s feeling pretty impossible today for the OU offense.

— RC

12:10 p.m.

First quarter stats:

— JH

12:09 p.m.

First quarter is over. It's a nightmare for Oklahoma.

— JH

Q1 TCU

12:00 p.m.

Eric Gray smashes in from the 1-yard line and it’s 20-10, 2:15 to play in the quarter.

— JH

11:57 a.m.

That throw from Gabriel to Brayden Willis wasn’t overthrown. Perfect dime. Then Jayden Gibson executed two downfield blocks to spring Willis for the 79-yard touchdown.

Which, of course, is being reviewed.

Replay will show he stepped out of bounds.

— JH

11:56 a.m.

Tyler Guyton starts the series at right tackle for the Sooners in relief of Wanya Morris.

— RC

11:53 a.m.

TCU feeling they can attack the OU corners early. Max Duggan never looked anywhere else on the first down play, and Johnston drew the pass interference flag on Woodi Washington.

The Oklahoma defense is definitely back on its heels early in this one.

— RC

11:50 a.m.

There's about a minute delay for me, but Robert Griffin III is doing a great job explaining on the broadcast why Gabriel is so far off today: his footwork is all over the place. His base is inconsistent. He's abandoning his technique.

— JH

11:48 a.m.

Last week I was willing to discuss the notion that OU receivers were getting bumped off their routes or maybe breaking their routes off early.

But we’ve now seen Gabriel overthrow — badly — five targets. He’s not giving his guys a chance.

— JH

11:48 a.m.

Wanya Morris is down on the field after that third down incompletion.

— RC

11:45 a.m.

This defense is shell-shocked. Duggan might finish with better numbers than Adrian Martinez last week. Of course, it was Martinez who started this landslide.

The Sooner D needed confidence today. This is exactly the opposite — nothing is working.

— JH

11:43 a.m.

This is a rout. An absolute punishment.

After Gabriel’s two overthrows turns the football back to TCU, Max Duggan takes the next snap 67 yards to the house.

Kani Walker bit on the play fake and Key Lawrence looked like a defensive lineman trying to catch Duggan.

It’s 20-3 in Fort Worth.

What is happening.

— JH

11:43 a.m.

Now Key Lawrence is back in for Justin Broiles on the back end, and Kani Walker is the corner on the TCU sideline.

Walker bit on the run fake and Max Duggan scampers for 67 yards down the sideline. Lawrence looked like he was running in slow motion to chase down the TCU quarterback.

— RC

11:41 a.m.

Brayden Willis was wide open on a boot, and Gabriel threw it 4 feet over his head. Then on fourth down, Gabriel had Mims break through two zones into an open space, and he threw it well over his head as well.

Gabriel can’t seem to dial it in today.

— JH

11:36 a.m.

Not sure what Oklahoma’s coverage was supposed to be on that one, but I know Brent Venables didn’t dial up that. Justin Broiles jumped Taye Barber’s short move and pounced on the back out of the backfield, then turned Barber loose, like it was cover-1. Only, Broiles looked like he was supposed to be covering that deep zone. By the time Barber caught it, Justin Harrington — the safety on the other side — had no chance.

TCU misses the PAT and it’s 13-3, 8:35 left in the first quarter.

— JH

11:35 a.m.

Oklahoma’s safeties to start this drive: Trey Morrison, Justin Harrington and Justin Broiles.

— RC

11:32 a.m.

Billy Bowman currently doesn’t have his helmet on the sideline and Trey Morrison just walked up to tap him on the pads.

Will be interesting to see if he returns.

— RC

11:30 a.m.

Nice response there by the Sooners. Dillon Gabriel gets the ball to Marvin Mims, the secondary starts to loosen up. But Gabriel missed Mims, too, and Zach Schmit has to come on for a field goal. It’s 7-3, TCU.

— JH

11:26 a.m.

Interesting usage of the personnel by Jeff Lebby on that drive.

Motions Marvin Mims and Jalil Farooq in to the backfield to get the ball on the first two plays, and then dials up a jet sweep for Drake Stoops with an empty backfield.

Gabriel made a nice play to evade pressure and find Jayden Gibson downfield, but the true freshman couldn’t haul the pass in.

Lebby’s showing more and more as the season wears on, will be interesting to see what else is in the cards for today.

— RC

11:25 a.m.

Nice job on third down by Dillon Gabriel to escape the pocket and create something and float a perfect throw to Jayden Gibson, but Gibson — defended ty Tre’Vius Hodges-Tomlinson — couldn’t hang onto the pass.

The bad start continues for the Sooners.

— JH

11:17 a.m.

Just like in Lincoln, the Oklahoma defense offers no resistance on the first drive going with three down linemen. Damond Harmon gives up an easy pass interference call after a couple of passes to the boundary, and then Max Duggan picks on Jaden Davis with an easy 19-yard pitch-and-catch to Savion Williams.

Horned Frogs immediately cash in on the fumble to go up 7-0 with 12:45 left in the first quarter, and only took four plays and 1:18 to march the 46 yards.

— RC

11:14 a.m.

Oklahoma’s starters on defense:

Downs - Redmond - Grimes

Stutsman - Ugwoegbu - White

Washington - Harmon - Bowman - Broiles - Davis

— RC

11:11 a.m.

So about those slow starts… Marvin Mims coughs up the football on the third play of the game and TCU recovers the fumble.

The officials ruled on the field that Mims made a football move (and this reporter agrees). After a short review, the call was confirmed. TCU will start with the football on the Oklahoma 46-yard line.

— RC

11:09 a.m.

Oklahoma’s starters on offense:

Harrison - Mettauer - Raym - Murray - Morris

Willis - Wease - Mims - Farooq

Gabriel - Gray

— RC

11:06 a.m.

Oklahoma won the toss (called “tails”, Chris “tails never fails” Plank will be happy) and elected to receive. Dillon Gabriel on deck.

— RC

10:38 a.m.

Its Parents’ Weekend here in Fort Worth but Amon G. Carter Stadium has yet to start filling up. This photo was taken with 33 minutes until kickoff and while there are fans still on the concourse, the stands are sparsely populated.

FB - TCU Horned Frogs

Amon G. Carter Stadium 33 minutes before kickoff for Oklahoma and TCU

— RC

10:32 a.m.

Not seeing true freshman defensive end R Mason Thomas out on the field either going through warmups. Would be the third straight game he’s missed.

— RC

10:15 a.m.

Running back Marcus Major is out today. Clears the path for a potentially big day for Jovantae Barnes and Tawee Walker in reserve.

— RC

10:00 a.m.

The Sooners have arrived in Fort Worth donning the traditional away threads.

No funny business yet again on the uniforms as the OU defense looks to bounce back in a big way against an explosive TCU offense.
