Two Florida teens have been arrested after stealing two vehicles and fleeing from one deputy,

“This was an awesome job by Detective Arnold for pursuing two suspects and recovering two stolen vehicles at the same time,” Collier County Sheriff Kevin Rambosk said. “Our Patrol, K9, and Aviation units are also to be commended for assisting with these arrests.”

Around 3 a.m. on Friday, Detective Arnold, with Collier County Sheriff’s Office was on a call when he noticed a blue Nissan Rogue SUV with its lights off traveling on Linwood Avenue.

The SUV continued to travel with its lights off and began to follow a silver SUV. Detective Arnold attempted to stop the blue SUV, but the driver continued to follow behind the silver SUV.

Both SUVs accelerated and Detective Arnold engaged in a double-vehicle pursuit. The pursuit ended in the Royal Harbor community where both drivers bailed out of their vehicles and ran.

Detective Arnold, assisted by Patrol deputies and Aviation and K9 units, searched the area. The juveniles were located behind a residence and taken into custody.

Further investigation revealed both vehicles were stolen out of Collier County.

The driver of the silver SUV, 13-year-old Jesus Eduardo Barajas-Guzman of Naples, is charged with grand theft auto and fleeing and eluding.

The driver of the blue SUV, 15-year-old Noah Pederson of Naples, faces an enhanced felony charge of grand theft over $20,000 during a state of emergency, as well as fleeing and eluding.
