Strong winds from the remains of Ian contributed to thousands of Virginians losing power.
The ABC13 area has been battered with tropical storm force wind from Ian.
Wind gusts were up to 40-50 mph overnight.
Currently, 100,000 Virginians are without electricity.
Specifically, Danville and Pittsylvania County have the highest concentration of outages.
In Henry and Patrick Counties there are 7,000 people without power.
Lynchburg fared surprisingly well with less than 10% of Lynchburg losing power.
However, power outages increase across Bedford and Campbell Counties.
The storm has caused scattered trees to be on the ground.
It's important to slow down when driving on the roads.
Many roads are a mess, especially when driving through the county and neighborhood.
It will remain windy on Saturday but it won't be as strong as Friday night into Saturday morning.
