The Mountain Home High School football team had a rough outing at home on Friday, particularly in the first half of the game. The Bombers suffered a 52-14 loss at the hands of Pulaski Academy, who showed why they’re ranked fifth in the state overall and first in Class 6A.

The Bruins’ unconventional style of play paid dividends in the first half. P.A. recovered four of the six onside kicks they attempted in the first two quarters, and they used their passing attack to gain 519 yards of total offense before halftime. Mountain Home, on the other hand, struggled to get anything going as they were held to -6 yards in the half. The Bombers were able to get some offense going when Brady Barnett took over at quarterback, and Chris Hubbard had some key gains on the ground, including a 55-yard run to set up one of their two touchdowns.

Hubbard had 11 carries for 81 yards for Mountain Home. Barnett completed four passes on six attempts for 85 yards, and Anthony Milbourne had two catches for 46 yards and an interception on the defensive end.

The Bombers to 0-6 on the season and 0-4 in the 6A-West. P.A. improves to 5-0 and 3-0.

Mountain Home returns to the road next week for an outing with Little Rock Christian.
