Remnants of Hurricane Ian - October 2022

Fellow Roseland Residents:

While we thankfully will not be dealing with the kind of storm that south Florida experienced or even what South Carolina is now experiencing, there will be impacts on our area from the remnants of Hurricane Ian. The following is what Roseland residents should expect from the storm:

  • Potential is increasing for gusty winds (20 to 25 mph sustained w/ 30-45 mph peak gusts) late Saturday night into Sunday night.
  • 1 to 3 inches of rainfall is likely late tonight into Saturday evening across our area with highest amounts to the south and east. Reasonable worst-case scenario of 3" to isolated locally 5" of rainfall during this time. Minor urban and poor drainage flooding is the primary threat, with a localized threat for flash flooding. Lesser rainfall amounts and potential impacts for interior areas.
  • Rain will likely start around mid morning on Saturday and continue at least through midday on Sunday, with a chance that rain could also continue into Sunday evening.

Please be sure that any loose objects are secured and that storm drains and your gutters are cleared of debris so rain can drain where it needs to go and not cause any unnecessary problems.
