Inside Big B’s Texas BBQ business is moving.
“I’m really glad we didn’t give up the cause at the end of the day we made it through and again, I’m going to repeat myself, but it sorts of made me stronger. Like I feel like I can do anything,” said Natalia Badzjo, Big B’s Texas owner.
Five years ago, we introduced you to the restaurant’s owners Natalia and Brian Buechner.
It was back then that the couples catering equipment including their smoker were locked up in FBI evidence for a month following the Route 91 Harvest Festival shooting.
“First it was locked up in FBI evidence then mirage evidence, so it was just going back and forth,” explained Badzjo.
The smoker was released over a month after the shooting taking a financial toll.
“October is one of the busiest events when it comes to outside catering, so we definitely had to cancel a lot of those, but the restaurant was still open. It was impressive how the Las Vegas community came together to uplift everybody,” she said.
Three years later the couple opened a second restaurant location, and survived a beating from the COVID-19 pandemic and now inflation.
Despite such successful strides, Badzjo says memories from that tragic night have not held her back.
“Since that big event, we have done another outside event like that yet. It’s a big difference mentally to be ready for an event like that again. But I think five years later, we’re ready to get back on that horse,” said Badzjo.
