Great Bend woman sentenced in death of Kansas man

A Great Bend woman was sentenced Friday for the January murder of a LaCrosse man.

Jennifer Stipe, 49, of Great Bend was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for 25 years in Rush County District Court by Chief Judge Bruce Gatterman.

On Aug. 10, Stipe plead guilty to one count of first-degree murder.  Stipe was also ordered to pay $5,000 in restitution.

On January 11, Leslie Randa, 61, or LaCross was found murdered.  Stipe was arrested in March following an investigation by the KBI and the Rush County Sheriff’s Office.

A second defendant still has additional charges pending in the case.
