The Fresno City Council has voted 4-3 to donate the train at Roeding Park to the City of Kingsburg.

The engine was donated to Fresno in 1956 and sits behind a chained fence at the park.

According to city staff, the problem has been protecting the engine from vandalism and damage. The city council says selling or donating it has not worked out in the past, until now.

The Historic Kingsburg Depot has asked to receive the train as a donation and serve as an educational tool.

The City of Kingsburg is set to pay all expenses to transport the engine to its new home.
