Louis Tomlinson thinks he is "closer to being over" his fight with Zayn Malik, a former bandmate in One Direction. This is great news for their respective fans, and the fans of 1D as a whole. 

The "Walls: singer was questioned about his friendship with Zayn during an interview on the Zach Sang Show on Wednesday. The two had a Twitter argument when Zayn left the band in 2015. 

"You'd have to ask him," he replied. "I could be wrong, but I believe I said, when you asked me a similar question (last time)... I believe I said I don't think I'm mature enough to get over what's frustrated me in that relationship." He continued, "I don't know if I'm mature enough now, but I'm definitely closer to being over all that."

Zayn has recently shared renditions of One Direction songs on Instagram, and Louis liked several of the photos, despite the fact that he has criticized his time in the band.

Louis said that he wasn't just liking it just for the sake of it.  For him, in those videos, it showed to him that Zayn Malik was actually reflecting, it showed he was thinking about those days, while also showcasing his wonderful voice. He added that for him, it feels nice to see Malik reminiscining about the band especially knowing what Malik had once said about the band. Tomlinson now said he completely understands where Malik was coming for.

Louis stated that they might rekindle their friendship.

Since Zayn Malik's abrupt exit in 2015, the bandmates' friendship has been under scrutiny, and we're sorry to say that there have been hints of tension between them ever since. However, Louis has stated he hasn't spoken to his former bandmate in a while, so things aren't looking good.

The internet has been enthralled by the purported One Direction dispute for the past six years, from Zayn's declaration that he never wanted to be in the band to Liam's shocking revelations on the Impaulsive podcast.

Last month, the musician posted the 31-second black-and-white video to his Instagram page, singing Harry Styles' lines in a voice that was distinctly Malik's and smoky. The band's fourth studio album, "Four," contained "Night Changes," Malik's final single before his surprise resignation from the renowned group in 2015.

The pop song had a successful 20-week run on the top charts, peaking at No. 31 on the Billboard Hot 100. Together with Jame Scott, Julian Bunetta, and John Ryan, One Direction created the song.
