Auburn police say a 10-year-old student got stuck in the door of a school bus Friday afternoon.
In a letter released on the school department's website, Superintendent Cornelia Brown says the Sherwood Elementary Heights student was evaluated for non-life-threatening injuries at Central Maine Medical Center after his arm and backpack became trapped in the bus doors.
Lt. Jason Moore tells WMTW News 8 that the bus driver continued through the intersection of Spring and Court streets while the child hung on to the doors.
Lt. Moore says there is no criminal investigation underway, and no charges are expected against the driver.
Superintendent Brown told WMTW News 8 that an investigation will likely be performed by the school. Her letter states -- no further information will be released by the department at this time.
