HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Three Longfellow elementary students are giving back to those in need.

The three brothers received $100 between the three of them for their birthdays that they share in September. But they didn’t buy toys with it; instead, they wanted to donate it to the Salvation Army in Hastings.

On Thursday afternoon, the boys, Korbyn, Kamryn and Kayden Devaney, handed over their cash to Major Dale Brandenburg with the Hastings Salvation Army. He thanked them for their donation, explaining what it would go toward and saying how proud he was.

Mary Hultquist whose daughter is the boys’ half brothers said she told them they could have the money to buy whatever they wanted but they said they wanted to give to a charity that helps feed families. She said she couldn’t be prouder of them, especially with all they’ve gone through including the death of their mother.
