Columbia man arrested in fentanyl bust

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Columbia man was charged Friday in federal court with distributing fentanyl after investigators learned a package containing drugs was going to be delivered to his home.

Law enforcement searched the home of Brennan Demarco, 24, at the 3200 block of Jenne Hill Road on Thursday. Authorities say they found:

  • 100 grams of blue M30 pills that reacted positively for the presence of fentanyl.
  • Approximately 16 grams of pink K56 pills that field tested positive for fentanyl.
  • Small quantities of suspected marijuana throughout the residence.
  • A few empty bottles of promethazine hydrochloride with codeine phosphate oral solution
  • A Glock 19 gun.

Law enforcement believes Brennan Demarco, 24, provided fentanyl to a person who then dealt it to Austin Logan, a man who died in March from an overdose, according to court documents.

Postal inspectors found a package heading for Demarco's residence this week that contained more than 8 pounds of marijuana, documents say.

Demarco was in the Cole County Jail on Friday. No hearing dates have been set in his case, according to online court records.
