Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa said he’s “feeling much better” after sustaining a concussion in a 27-15 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday night.
“I want to thank everyone for all of their prayers and support since the game last night,” Tagovailoa said in a post on his Twitter account at 4:30 p.m. CDT Friday. “It was difficult to not be able to finish the game and be there with my teammates, but I am grateful for the support and care I’ve received from the Dolphins, my friends and family and all the people who have reached out. I’m feeling much better and focused on recovering so I can get back out on the field with my teammates.”
Tagovailoa got hurt in the second quarter of Thursday night’s game when Cincinnati defensive tackle Josh Tupou sacked him, and the quarterback’s helmet banged on the turf.
Tagovailoa was taken off the field on a stretcher and transported to University of Cincinnati Medical Center. He was discharged in time to fly home with his teammates on Thursday night.
