New York State Police are asking the public to help locate a man who fell into the Ausable River on Thursday evening.Officials said they responded to the area behind the Hungry Trout Resort on NY 86 in Wilmington after a report that 68-year-old George Thevis, of Atlanta, fell into the river.Police said Thevis allegedly lost his balance and fell about 25 feet into the river. Multiple units as well as fire and rescue and New York State Department of Environmental Conservation forest rangers are attempting to locate Thevis but have so far been unsuccessful.
