Teenage couple killed in wreck with 18 wheeler

Highway Patrol investigation says they pulled into the path of the truck

DUNLAP, Tennessee (WDEF) – Two teenagers were killed in a crash Thursday night in the Sequatchie Valley.

It happened around 9:30 PM on State Route 28 near John Burch Road in Dunlap.

Troopers say a Jeep Patriot on John Burch Road failed to stop at the intersection and pulled into the path of an 18 wheeler.

19 year old Austin Moffit and 19 year old Alexis McCann of Dunlap were killed.

The driver of the truck was not hurt.

Both Moffit and his girlfriend, McCann, were graduates of Sequatchie County High where Moffit played football.

The Sequatchie County Quarterback Club is collecting donations for Austin’s family to cover funeral expenses.
