Teenager in critical condition after being shot in Swissvale
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - A teenager is in the hospital after he was shot in Swissvale this afternoon.
According to Allegheny County Police, just before 3 p.m., they were called to the 7500 block of Short Street for a reported shooting.
Once they arrived they found the teenager who had been shot.
He was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
911 calls report the teenager is 13 years old, but police have not confirmed that information.
Detectives are going door-to-door in the neighborhood, interviewing residents about what happened.
Police have said there's no threat to the public.
"The public has no reason to be alarmed at this time, it appears to be this was an incident involving only him," said Swissvale Police Chief Ellis Watson
