Just after 11:00 p.m., a fatal collision occurred where a bicyclist, heading northbound on Wall Street and at an intersection, was run over by a full size commercial van, possibly a GMC or Chevy style van, according to Los Angeles Police Department Detective Juan Campos with Central Traffic Division speaking on-camera with Key News Network at the scene.

The bicyclist was dragged about 30 feet before being dislodged from the van, according to Campos. The driver did not stop to render aid and fled the scene. The van is distinct in the way that it has a rack on top as seen in video detectives have, said Campos.

Campos feels it could be possibly be a plumber or perhaps a construction worker, maybe local in the area, heading home.

Campos said there is a $50,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction of the driver in this incident.

The victim is a male Black, unknown age at this time, and identity is being held until next of kin is notified. The coroner was at the scene conducting their investigation.
