HEROIN ARREST AT CRASH SCENE ON U.S. 25 IN LAUREL COUNTY, KENTUCKY

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Byron Grimes along with Deputy Skylar McFarland arrested Corina Marie Jastal age 32 of Stoney Fork Road, Corbin on Monday afternoon September 26, 2022 at approximately 3:50 PM.

The arrest occurred on U.S. 25 approximately 7 miles South of London after deputies were dispatched to an injury traffic crash there.

Upon arrival at the scene deputies conducted an investigation on the driver who was still in the vehicle.

Deputies determined through investigation that the driver was under the influence.

During the investigation the driver was found in possession of:

  • Suspected Heroin
  • 3 straws with gray residue on them
  • A tourniquet

Corina Jastal was charged with:

  • Operating a motor vehicle under the influence –first offense
  • Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Heroin
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

After being evaluated by EMS, this individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
