Stranger Things star Gaten Matarazzo will voice an adorable dragon in a new animated movie for Netflix.

The Dustin Henderson actor is part of a star-studded cast in the streamer's upcoming film My Father's Dragon.

Inspired by the book of the same name from author Ruth Stiles Gannett, the movie follows Elmer (voiced by Room's Jacob Tremblay), a young boy struggling to adjust to his new life after relocating to the city with his mother.

The film is directed by Oscar-nominated filmmaker Nora Twomey off a script from Meg LeFauve, who also got an Academy Award nod in 2015 for co-writing Pixar's Inside Out.

"We were drawn together by a desire to tell a very special tale of friendship, adventure, and true bravery. I fell in love with storytelling as a child and Netflix excels at celebrating all kinds of stories, through different styles and distinct voices," Twomey said in a statement.

"When Netflix came onboard with this film, before we even had a script, it was to encourage us to make the best film we possibly could. Our crew created a beautiful, animated lens to look through and I can't wait to share the view with audiences around the world."

My Father Dragon's premieres at BFI London Film Festival on October 8. It will become available to stream on Netflix globally from November 11.
