On Friday Andy & Randy were joined by former Atlanta Braves pitcher and current Bally Sports Braves Analyst Paul Byrd who talked about this weekend’s hugely important series between the Braves and the New York Mets at Truist Park.

“I think the Mets, Braves are the World Series champions. I mean whether they win the division or not they are the reigning World Series champions who are going back to the playoffs, they’re a very good team, they’re hot and they’re clicking at the right time,” Byrd responded when asked if the Braves or Mets have more pressure on them this weekend.

“The Mets are trying to prove they are not going to Met and it looks like they’re not because they have a great record…if they don’t win the division they can still hang the hat on man we won you know 100 games or whatever it is going to be at the end. They’ve done really, really well. So I don’t think there is too much pressure on either but you want to win the division and I would say there is more pressure on the Mets,” Byrd added.

The first game of the Braves-Mets series features two aces in the Braves Max Fried and the Mets Jacob deGrom. deGrom has done very well against the Braves in his career and Braves Insider Mark Bowman sums that up in the following tweet:

Game 1 of this series starts at 7:20pm on Friday night.

You can hear Andy & Randy Monday-Friday from 11a-2p on 92.9 The Game.
