Lynne Punnett Celebrated as New Kiwanis Club of Adrian President

Adrian, MI – The Kiwanis Club of Adrian celebrated and honored the incoming officers and board members for 2022-2023 during its weekly meeting on Wednesday.

The ceremonial “Passing of the Gavel” signaled the transfer of the presidency from Travis Havens, President & CEO of Hospice of Lenawee, to Lynne Punnett, retired nonprofit executive and housing advocate. The event, which was also the Kiwanis Club of Adrian’s final meeting of the fiscal year, took place at The Centre.

Outgoing President Travis Havens, said, “It’s been a true honor to serve the community in this role as President of the Kiwanis Club of Adrian over the past year. Our Club has had a phenomenal year that included devoted service projects and granting of financial resources to those in need. The Kiwanis Club of Adrian is growing its membership with engaged servant leaders. I look forward to staying very involved as a Board Director and Committee Member. I can’t wait to watch what Lynne is able to accomplish over the next year and beyond.”

Incoming President Lynne Punnett, said, “After 11 years as a member of this great club, I am honored and excited for the opportunity to lead the Kiwanis Club of Adrian. The leadership team is incredible and I’m grateful to have the support of Travis and so many others who have served before us. This club’s commitment to community and to improving the lives of children who live here is something we all believe in and something I’m especially proud to be a part of. I want others to feel welcome to join us in contributing directly and significantly to making this community the very best place for kids to live, grow and thrive.”

The Kiwanis Club of Adrian is one of more than 7,000 worldwide clubs included in Kiwanis International. Kiwanis intentionally takes action to positively impact the Adrian community by supporting educational development for young children, encouraging economic development, and by creating and supporting recreation opportunities.

Kiwanis Division 11 Lieutenant Governor Mike Zuckowski formally inducted officers and board members during the September 28th meeting. Inducted into their new positions were Cary Carrico of Kemner Iott Benz as President-Elect, Heather Pearce of South Michigan Food Bank as Vice President, Joe Williams of County National Bank will continue to serve in his role as Treasurer and Paula Trentman with the Lenawee Community Foundation will continue as Club Secretary.

The 2022-2023 board of directors also includes Mekeisha Black, Lenawee Christian Ministries; Roger Ferguson, County National Bank; Laura Schultz-Pipis, United Way of Monroe/Lenawee Counties; Dusty Steele, HB Steele Interactive Financial Planning; Mark Baker, Foundation Realty; Drake Lolley, Advantage Visuals; and Frank Rhames, Blue Pointe Title Agency.
