Ten months after a Tonganoxie, Kansas, couple was gunned down after leaving an area restaurant, prosecutors have announced the arrests of three people reportedly involved in the case. The shooting happened in the early hours of Nov. 20, 2021. The victims, 45-year-old Angela Santiago and 42-year-old Jose Arellano-Rascon, were found shot to death in a vehicle with multiple shattered windows on East Cedar Street, west of Sunset Drive around 1:30 a.m. Police had responded to the area to investigate reports of gunshots heard in the area. Both victims were pronounced dead on the scene.Police quickly identified a photo of a person of interest and a vehicle — a gray Ford F-150 — in connection with the case. Police said they were searching for four to five men in connection with the incident. Johnson County, Kansas, District Attorney Steve Howe announced Friday that three people have been charged in connection with this incident. Olathe Police have taken 39-year-old Salvador Garcia-Zarate, 40-year-old Jesus Enrique Cereceda-Soto, and 37-year-old Axel Arellanes-Vara into custody. All three have been charged with capital murder.Bond for each defendant has been set at $10 million.No additional details are available at this time.
