If there's one thing we like to do in Acadiana, it's to drive slow in the left lane.

We also like to eat. And when we find a great place to eat, we like to share that information.

Of course, that information is extremely subjective, based on our personal likes/dislikes.

In this post, we are in search of the best steak in Lafayette, or in Acadiana, for that matter, and we are diving into a post from the Foodies of Lafayette Facebook page to look for YOUR recommendations.

So, in no particular order, we will list where people who commented on the post think you'll find the best steak in Lafayette.

Or, as the original post says, the "best, biggest, thickest, juiciest" steak.

RUTH'S CHRIS STEAK HOUSE

We'll start the list with a no-brainer: Ruth's Chris Steak House

Ruth's Chris is always on point when it comes to steaks because that's kind of their thing. And I'll agree: it's a great steak. And great sides. And a great atmosphere, if you're into that kind of scene.

CAFE JOSEPHINE IN SUNSET

Cafe' Josephine in Sunset, known for their great grilled oysters on the half shell, appears to offer up a tasty steak, according to a few people commenting on the post.

Currently, Cafe' Josephine's menu lists a 14 oz. Prime Ribeye, a Prime Ribeye Cap of the same size, and a center-cut 10 oz. Prime Filet.

CHARLEY G'S

Another no-brainer on the list is Charley G's on Ambassador Caffery. From the drinks to the dessert, the salad to the steaks, the service, the atmosphere: in my opinion, Charley G's is one of the best in town.

If you like your steak with an Old Fashioned, Charley G's is the place (and be sure to try their cracked peppercorn Cognac sauce on the side).

NASH'S IN BROUSSARD

Located in an old home they turned into a restaurant, Nash's has a great atmosphere.

I haven't had a steak at every one of the restaurants recommended in the post, but I did enjoy the ribeye I ordered at Nash's. The other steak I've had there is the bacon-wrapped filet, and it was great, as well.

LONGHORN STEAK HOUSE

Longhorn Steak House on Ambassador Caffery, one would hope that they would get a mention in this post. After all, they ARE a steak house, right?

I've been to Longhorn to meet up with friends on several occasions, and I do like their Caesar Salad and their broccoli as a side. Nice atmosphere, too.

PATRIOT INN IN MAURICE

One place that might have flown under your radar is the Patriot Inn in Maurice.

At the corner of Lafayette Street and Highway 167, the Patriot Inn is known locally for its food (and card games!). I've enjoyed several burgers at Patriot Inn (not in one sitting, of course), but I have yet to try their steaks. It's now on my list!

 HEBERT'S STEAK HOUSE IN NUNEZ

Another under-the-radar restaurant that was mentioned in the post was Hebert's.

Snuggled in on Highway 14 halfway between Abbeville and Kaplan is Hebert's Steak House (the old "GooLoos", I believe).

iMONELLI ON JOHNSTON

I've had their excellent Italian dishes, now I have another reason to go there.

iMonelli on Johnston Street is another one of the great restaurants in Lafayette that might not make it to top of mind every time you are considering to go out for dinner, but it should be up there. Great Italian and, according to David Rainey, great steak, too.

PIMON THAI

Wait: what? Pimon Thai for a steak? Are you joking?

No, I guess they aren't joking. At least 3 people said that Pimon Thai not only has steak, but they said the best steak in Lafayette. That's a tall order, but I'm willing to give it a try!

MR. LESTER'S STEAK HOUSE

No one else mentioned it, but I felt this needed to be included on the list.

My favorite at Mr. Lester's: Prime Rib.

My second favorite at Mr. Lester's: anything else on the menu. Always top-notch at Mr. Lester's.

OTHER MENTIONS

Feezo's

Mazen

Cafe' Sidney Mae

Cafe' Bella

Cafe' Vermilionville

The Point

But which one is the best? Of course, that answer is purely subjective: the best steak is where you like the steak best, right?

Which restaurant would you add to this list?
