Fifteen arrested in Pawtucket drug sweep after residents alert police

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — Pawtucket police said Thursday that they received calls from local business owners about some people using and selling drugs in front of their stores.

Wednesday, 15 people were arrested in a drug sweep in the area of Broad and Montgomery streets.

The suspects allegedly harassed customers and local residents.

On Sept. 28, Pawtucket’s narcotics unit went to some apartments on Montgomery Street after obtaining a court order search warrant.

There police found suspected crack cocaine, fentanyl, and several drug paraphernalia used in the packaging and sale of street drugs.

During the search, some of the suspects, described as “street level narcotics dealers,” were found inside the apartments.

The suspects face multiple charges, including drugs and gun offenses.
