Police Respond to Two-Vehicle Crash on Route 310

WINSLOW TWP., Pa. (EYT) – State Police in DuBois responded to a two-vehicle crash that occurred on State Route 310 on Tuesday evening.

According to police, the accident happened around 9:40 p.m. on Tuesday, September 27, on State Route 310 in Winslow Township, Jefferson County.

Police say a 2013 Ford Focus, operated by 28-year-old Austin J. Lowe, of Reynoldsville, was traveling south on Route 310, and Lowe failed to negotiate a left-hand curve causing the vehicle to travel off the roadway. The vehicle struck a boulder along the side of the road and then continued down the side of the road and struck another boulder.

The vehicle then came back into its lane of travel and crossed over the center line of the roadway striking a 2008 Hyundai Elantra operated by a 17-year-old Brookville male.

The Ford Focus then traveled down the roadway and came to a final rest in a southern direction.

The Hyundai continued off the roadway and into a nearby wooded area and came to a final rest in a northern direction.

Both drivers were using seat belts, and no injuries were reported.

Lowe was charged with a traffic violation.

Jewel’s Towing, DuSan Ambulance Service, and Reynoldsville Volunteer Fire Company assisted at the scene.
