WOW. OKAY, JOHNNY, THANKS FOR LOOKING OUT. WE ARE FOLLOWING BREAKING NEWS THIS MORNING. TWO PEOPLE ARE DEAD AFTER TWO SEPARATE SHOOTINGS IN KANSAS, MISSOURI. THE FIRST HAPPENED AFTER 1030 LAST NIGHT NEAR 46 IN ELMWOOD. OFFICERS FOUND A MAN SHOT IN FRONT OF A HOME THERE. HE DIED THE SCENE. THE SECOND SHOOTING HAPPENED AROUND THE SAME TIME. 61ST. Detectives in Kansas City, Missouri, are working to investigate two separate homicides that happened that the same time Thursday night. An official with the Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department said officers were first dispatched to the 4600 block of East 46th Street to investigate a disturbance just after 10:30 p.m. As they were heading to the address, that call was upgraded to a shooting. The person who called 911 reported hearing gunshots and seeing someone down on the ground in front of a home in the area. Police found the victim, identified only as an adult male, unresponsive. He was declared dead on the scene. At the same time, a similar incident was unfolding a few miles away in the 6100 block of Tracy Avenue. Police were dispatched to investigate a disturbance involving the sound of shots. As officers were driving to the scene, the call was upgraded to a shooting. A man was found with an apparent gunshot wound in front of a home in that neighborhood. He was rushed to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police identified the victim as Cortez Foster, 35. Detectives and crime scene investigators are working to learn more about both shootings Thursday night. Anyone with information on either shooting is asked to call KCPD homicide detectives directly at 816-234-5043, or call the Crime Stoppers TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS. There is a reward of up to $25,000 available for information leading to an arrest in each case.
