45-year-old man killed in Benzie County crash

BENZIE COUNTY, MI -- A 45 year-old Interlochen man was killed Wednesday in a two-car crash that also sent two other men to the hospital. According to 9&10 News, Charles Culbertson Jr., was traveling westbound on Fewins Road when he failed to stop at the Lake Ann Road intersection around 6:10 p.m.

Culbertson hit a car that was traveling northbound on Lake Ann Road that was being driven by a 59-year-old Traverse City man. That man and a passenger in his car were transported to a nearby hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Culbertson was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Benzie County Sheriff’s Office does not believe speed was a factor in the crash, but have not yet determined in drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
