By this point, Guillermo del Toro is a household name equivalent with the cinematic macabre. And that’s what Netflix is banking on with their new anthology, curated by del Toro himself. “Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet Of Curiosities” showcases the director’s talents with eight other horror directors in a new eight-episode limited series, just in time for Halloween.
The upcoming series debuts as part of a special Netflix & Chills Halloween Event: starting October 25, two new episodes of “Cabinet Of Curiosities” will debut daily through October 28. And while del Toro doesn’t direct any of the episodes, he provides two original stories for the series and serves as the show’s host. But even without del Toro directing, there’s a lot of talent involved in this series. Directors include Catherine Hardwicke, Jennifer Kent, Ana Lily Amirpour, Panos Cosmatos, and more. And on the acting side, F. Murray Abraham, Crispin Glover, Eric André, and Sofia Boutella are only some of the big names involved here.

In CABINET OF CURIOSITIES, acclaimed Academy Award-winning filmmaker and creator, executive producer and co-showrunner Guillermo del Toro has curated a collection of unprecedented and genre-defining stories meant to challenge our traditional notions of horror. From macabre to magical, gothic to grotesque or classically creepy, these eight equally sophisticated and sinister tales (including two original stories by del Toro) are brought to life by a team of writers and directors personally chosen by del Toro.
