Earlier this year, Christina Aguilera released her second Spanish-language album titled "Aguilera" and it's all about celebrating her roots. In a recent interview, the singer revealed that she was also inspired during her early days in the music industry.

Speaking to HOLA! Magazine, the "Reflection" songstress embraced her heritage, saying she's proud to be an Aguilera despite the many times people in the industry try to take it away from her.

She noted that there were record executives who wanted her to drop her last name. Initially, she wasn't happy with the suggestion and revealed that Aguilera has been butchered many times before.

"Something that I really embody and understand is that, you know, this is a name that has been tried to be taken away from me on numerous occasions coming up in this business," she said. (via Huffpost)

In addition, she never named the said music executives who suggested the idea as she'd rather keep the "bad names" that were given to her.
