PORTLAND (WGME)--- After the first frost or even freeze of the season for many on Friday morning, a definite fall feel continues into the weekend.
Hurricane Ian will make its final landfall on South Carolina on Friday.
The entire South Carolina coast is under a Hurricane Warning, impacts look to be significant there Friday. The remnants of Ian will try to move into northern New England towards the middle of the week.
Clouds will increase Friday afternoon, leaving us overcast Saturday. While most will stay dry, a few evening showers will be possible along the immediate coastline.
Saturday will be the warmer day this weekend with highs in the 60s.
Cooler air moves in for Sunday and Monday, highs fall into the 50s with more sunshine.
Sunday night will likely be frosty, even close to the coast. Another freeze is certainly possible inland.
Remnants of Ian will try their best to work into Maine Tuesday evening and overnight.
While we may miss out on any meaningful rainfall, a few showers are possible at least along the coast.
Rain will move out by Wednesday morning, and sunny skies will return.
We briefly warm up into the upper 60s and 70s on Thursday ahead of a late week cold front.
The new drought monitor shows big improvements in Maine with no more severe drought. Only 3% of Maine remains in drought, mainly in the Mid-Coast.
